Ducati 2020 Model Preview
In case you didn’t manage to catch the World Premiere Event Live from Italy this morning, here’s our summary of the 2020 model line-up presented by Ducati CEO, Claudio Domenicali.
3 New Ducati E bikes for 2020
Claudio opened the event by introducing the E-Bike range. For 2020 there are 3 new models being added. Obviously Ducati see the importance of this range and want to introduce the some more affordable options as well as a very high-end spec limited edition.
MIG S – More affordable model. Less travel suspension (150mm) than current MIG-RR – less full on Enduro Marzocchi suspension.
MIG RR (current model)
MIG RR Limited – Very special limited edition Ebike with very high-end components, including Ohlins Front Suspension and lots of carbon. Only 50 Units will be produced. If you are lucky enough to get your hands on one of these RR Limited models you can expect it personalised with your name on the frame and suspension settings set up to your weight and riding style.
Scrambler Ebike – City E-Bike
A surprise model – was a new Ebike in the Scrambler model range. This is an Ebike aimed at city lifestyle / commuters. Less maintenance, and lower cost making it easier for people to join the the new family ebikes from Ducati.
New Scrambler Models for 2020
After the presentation of the ebikes, Claudio moved on to introduce a new Scrambler model for 2020.
New 800 Dark Version
This new scrambler is all black. It also includes all the safety features we can expect from Ducati including cornering ABS – a feature that actually saves lives and is important to anyone in this market. Available in Nov 2019.
Claudio Keen to get public feedback – #ducati2020, and then gave us a peak at some new Scrambler concept renderings from their styling team. There is a Scrambler Motard and a Desert X – both of which we will see more of at Eimach in Milan next month.
Diavel 1260
For 2020 there are Matt Black versions of the Diavel available – in both Standard Diavel 1260 and also 1260S models.
In addition, to the Matt Black versions, the Diavel 1260 S is also available in Full Red Version from 2020. Claudio stressed that this is much more than a new paint colour – We will have full specs on our website very soon. Available in Italy Feb 2020 (and around March 2020 for rest of world).
In case you are wondering why we have to wait a little longer than Italy for some of the 2020 models, it’s due to the different road testing procedures and laws for each global region. Usually Ducati Manchester, Stoke, Preston, and Worcester, can expect deleivery within a week or 2 after Italian showrooms. American showrooms can expect to take delivery up to a month after Italy.

New Multistrada 1260S Grand Tour – Destination Everywhere
Next on stage was the new Multistrada Grand Tour – an all new model to the Multistrada family.
The MultiStrada family has produced over 100,000 models since introduced, 16 years ago. And this adventure segment of Ducati is still a growing family.
Claudio defined the Multistrada Customers – “who wants to really move & travel”. That needs a product you can trust. That’s why reliability is such a key ingrredient to the MTS range.
Highlights of the Grand Tour Model include:
New Seat, New Livery, a very special new product
Extra Fog Lights
Touring Pack
Heated Hand Grips
Electric Fuel Cap – no key required
Tyre Pressure Sensor – and other key Safety Features
All these add-ons and upgrades, and with a price still affordable – Available end of Oct 2019
Then we were shown a nice new video of Grand Tour. They emotional video style we can expect from Ducati – amazing roads, sunrises, sunsets, freedom… Destination Everywhere.
New 2020 Panigale Models
As Claudio said, “We like travelling but also we like sport”. Which brings the 2020 model line-up to the new middle weight superbike – a re-engineered, sportbike.
Panigale V2
Calibrated for road use – providing both fun and control. This perfect product for young generation of riders. Fun on the racing track – it’s the perfect 1st track bike – “a spring board into racing”.
Panigale V4 2020 – Now with wings
So the Panigale V4 is now available with wings for 2020. For anyone unsure of the science behind the wing, Claudio discussed the advantages of the Bi-Plane Wing and its aerodynamics. Including improved stability, less wheelie, greater stability during breaking, etc.
The advantages of the wing were supported with tangible results from Jerez testing.
The Panigale V4 also features a new frame – which engineers worked on to find the ultimate compromise between sensibility & stability.
Ducati considered lots of feedback from customers & journalists after each product launch and use this to help in duture development. One key point made by Claudio is that they understand everyone is not a full-time racer. They wanted to create an ‘easier bike’.
Suspension setup easier on uneven roads, while still having improved speed and performance.
The new V4 is faster, but more importantly it is an ‘easier bike’ to live with and ride.
V4 S model is available in Oct/Nov 2019 and the standard Panigale V4 is available Jan 2020. There is a wide range of models for 2020 so there should be a Panigale to suit all riders.

2020 Streetfighter V4
One of the biggest stars of the event was the new Streetfighter V4. A naked bike with superbike heritage.
The Joker – New V4
The Bi-Plane Wings are featured on the new StreetFighter. Claudio stressed why this is so important for stability at high speeds – especially on naked bikes.
We learned that Ducati engineers spent months of research finding perfect balance of performance & stability for this new StreetFighter. Based on Desmo engine – 208HP – Naked model improved low end speed & torque.
StreetFighter V4 Accessories
Lots of extraordinary accessories (both for road and track too). This is a naked bike that is fun on track too.
Summary of Panigale StreetFighter
It’s a road bike – so extra comfortable.
Redeingeered seat – as comfortable as possible.
Includes safe performance package.
There are 2 versions – Standard Streetfighter and Streetfighter S
25% more power-weight ratio than Ducati’s next competitor.
Magnesium rims – Claudio says we ‘have to try them’. Greatly improves the riding experience – inertia and momentum.
A wonderful top performance naked bike.
Beautiful styling and design makes the Streetfighter very eye catching. Park it with pride downtown – obviously a nod to Lamborghini qualities of poser-styling while cruising downtown.
Availability – March 2020 for Italy
